The community is ready to participate and invest in the village’s future: its residents have ideas, energy and are strongly attached to the territory. In this context, the NRRP project represents a crucial turning point, providing the tools and resources necessary to transform this desire into concrete action.
At the heart of this process is a reflection on housing, with the municipal administration purchasing unused properties to repurpose them for residential use. Newly renovated apartments will be made available to future residents of Trevinano, including those moving to the village for social purposes or to work in the local activities being developed. Some of the renovated buildings will be dedicated to a silver housing project: a residential solution specifically designed for elderly residents, allowing them to live in a protected and comfortable environment that fosters socialization and mutual assistance. This housing model, which promotes independence while encouraging a sense of community, offers a modern answer to the challenges of an aging population, enabling seniors to remain active and integrated in the village’s social fabric.
Simultaneously, the project includes the creation of a scattered hotel (Albergo Diffuso), a tourism model that enhances existing real estate and allows visitors to experience the village and its community up close. This type of accommodation not only strengthens the local tourism offered but also promotes sustainable tourism that respects the environment and local culture, creating economic opportunities for residents and integrating tourism in the village’s daily life without compromising its identity. To meet the needs of younger generations, particularly in connection with the educational activities that will be hosted in the village, a guesthouse will also be established.
One of the symbolic elements of this regeneration process is the village’s historic trattoria, which has been facing the challenge of generational turnover for a long time. The restoration of this space, which goes beyond its traditional role as a restaurant, will transform it into a real 21st-century “emporium.” In addition to offering food and conviviality, it will provide essential services to residents. The trattoria will become a community hub, a place where people can meet, exchange ideas and feel part of a shared revival project.
Community spaces will also be enriched by the construction of a new multipurpose facility and the creation of a public garden overlooking the landscape for outdoor events. This space is designed to become the beating heart of Trevinano’s social, cultural and educational activities, hosting a wide range of initiatives—from educational and training activities for young people to live performances, as well as artistic and cultural events for all ages. The multipurpose centre will serve as a gathering place where the community can come, interact and grow together, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging intergenerational dialogue. It is a versatile space capable of adapting to the community’s evolving needs and responding flexibly to changes in the social and cultural context.
This regeneration initiative goes beyond restoring the village’s physical structures and spaces; it creates a new model for a hands-on and sustainable community, where the residents’ desire to act is channeled and supported by the right resources and infrastructure.
